Take years off your eyes

Wearing too much mascara can make us look older. Heavy lashes cast shadows under the eyes, accentuating fine lines and creating dark circles. To get the right look, use an eye lash curler, which helps to make lashes naturally frame your eye. Then apply Mascara. It is better to do a couple of light coats then do one heavy coat. You can also use Affordable Mineral Makeup minerals for Mascara. Either mix minerals with a little water and use a clean mascara brush (can be found at beauty supply stores) and apply, or mix our minerals with clear mascara and apply.

How to Look 10 Pounds Thinner in Photos

Okay so I can't think of what to write today, I am reposting an article that I really liked. Have a great day.

How to Look 10 Pounds Thinner in Photos5 Red Carpet Secrets to Posing for Photos
By Julyne Derrick

Secret No. 1: Turn partially sideways to the camera, planting one foot in front of the other. Point your toe to the camera and place your weight on your back foot.

Secret No. 2: Pull head forward slightly to minimize any appearance of a double chin.

Secret No. 3: Hold arms slightly away from your body. This keeps upper arm flab from flattening out and therefore appearing flabbier (much like thighs do when one sits on a couch).

Secret No. 4: Pull shoulders back, chest forward and gently suck stomach in. Be careful not to suck stomach so far in that your ribs show, thereby causing those who later see the photo to cluck to themselves in a bemused, sing-song voice, "She's sucking i-in."

Secret No. 5: If you can get away with it without looking like a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover Girl wannabe, try the look away trick. To do this, look away from the camera, then turn towards it, breaking into a smile just before the camera clicks. Your smile will appear fresh, not frozen. This trick takes practice behind closed, locked doors.
When taking a photo it's also important the photographer does not snap the picture from below. This adds another 20-50 pounds to the 10 pounds automatically and annoying added by the camera. Find out why cameras add 10 pounds in this article by Geek Sugar.

More tips on looking 10 pounds thinner in photos:

Use objects you are holding to your advantage by placing them in front of parts of you you'd prefer to hide. A purse or corsage in front of your belly. A jacket slung over the shoulder. (Gwyneth Paltrow used a perfectly placed purse to hide her baby bump before she announced her pregnancy with Apple).

Check out Spanx hosiery. The very modern version of the corset, Spanx are famous for making women all over the world appear 10 pounds thinner. I own four pairs. (Don't invest in the panty hose, like most hose, they tend to tear and these are pricey).

Fake tans will make you look and feel skinnier. Unfortunately, they tend to reek, except for GlowFusion, a spray tanner I swear is not odorous.

It's not just black that makes you look thinner. Wearing an entire outfit of just one color will do the trick as well, whether it be white, beige, brown, blue or red. One color tends to elongate your figure. Avoid entire outfits in pink, however, unless you are four years old or younger.

Cheerleading Eye Makeup Designs

Cheerleading Eye Makeup Designs

My daugher who is almost 8 is really into cheerleading. She is just starting out and I nave talked to some of the older girls about there makeup and what they like and want. Here are some tips for our cheer girls.

Did you think you needed to consider your cheerleading eye makeup designs? You do. If you decide to go with eye makeup that is mineral makeup, you have many designs to consider. You can design your look in the colors of your school. Or, you can select those colors and designs that will draw themost attention to you. As a cheerleader, you have to look good and get the crowd pumped. Take sometime to actually design your stage makeup or just eye make up to portray the look you are after.

How To Apply Eye Makeup

The application of eye makeup is not always easy. No matter what type of eye makeup you are using, you need to first have your design set. Once you have done that, consider these tips to apply eyemakeup.

The Eyeliner

The first thing that the cheerleading eye makeup application needs to take intoconsideration is that of eyeliner. Use Affordable Mineral Makeup wet eyeliner for a defined, clean look.Follow your lash line carefully. Select colors that will stand out, too.

The Eyeshadow
The easiest area to make changes for your cheerleading eye makeup look is through the eyeshadow. Here, use school colors, a variety of hues and keep the glitter in. Glitter in your eyeshadow is a great way to spark the audience into looking at your eyes.

The Lashes
You should not forget your eye lashes either. You can use false eyelashes, if you would like, or simply use mascara. A new trend is in extensions for your eye lashes. This allowsyou to get those gorgeous big lashes that you should curl up. (use an eye curling wand if necessary)

When it comes to cheerleader eye makeup, take the time needed to give yourself some try out time. Set a night for you and the girls to get together and to try out new looks. Design a look that fitswith school spirit. Mineral makeup allows for many more options is affordable as well.

Soy Vs Paraffin

This is what our company says about the difference between the two. This was definately food for thought for me and I am so glad that I only burn Soy.

Paraffin wax is a heavy hydrocarbon that comes from crude oil. Paraffin waxes are produced by refining or separating the waxes out of crude mineral oils. Obtained from the ground, crude oil is a compositionally varied product, consisting of a mixture of hydrocarbons. Another name for crude oil is fossil fuel. Crude oil is transported to refineries where it is refined into finished products by complex processes. One of the many products derived from refining is lubricating oil. It is from the lube oil refining process that petroleum waxes are derived. There are three general categories of petroleum wax that are obtained from lube oil refining. They include paraffin, microcrystalline and petrolatum. Paraffin waxes are derived from the light lubricating oil distillates. Paraffin waxes contain predominantly straight-chain hydrocarbons with an average chain length of 20 to 30 carbon atoms.

Soy wax, on the other hand is made from vegetable matter. Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated. The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated. This process dramatically alters the melting point of the oil, making it a solid at room temperature. The leftover bean husks are commonly used as animal feed. The U.S. grows the vast majority of the world's soybeans, primarily in Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana.More Benefits of Soy WaxParaffin Wax CandlesSay NO to paraffin wax candles!

o Paraffin wax is the residue from the refining process of gasoline and motor oil. You are basically burning refined oil in your home!
o Paraffin wax is a petroleum based wax and gives off petrol-carbon soot into the air you breathe.
o Soot from paraffin wax contains 11 known harmful toxins, of which 2 (toluene and benzene) are carcinogenic. Carcinogenic means “cancer causing.”
o The Environmental Protection Agency has validated the possible dangers of breathing paraffin candle soot.
o The National Association of Home Builders has stated that candle soot costs the insurance industry millions of dollars a year.
o Paraffin candles emit high levels of particulate matter, tiny airborne flecks considered to be one of the most harmful forms of air pollution.
o A study by scientists at Maastricht University measured the air quality in churches (which burn a lot of paraffin candles). They found they contained particulate matter at levels up to 20 times higher than what is considered safe to breathe. The levels were similar to those found in the air beside roads driven by 45,000 cars a day! This could be what you are breathing in your home from paraffin candles!
o The United States Environmental Protection Agency released research in 2001 concluding that burning paraffin candles can be a source of particulate matter, and can raise indoor levels above what the EPA recommends as safe. Soy Wax Candles
o Soybean wax seems to be the most promising natural wax available.
o Soy candles are the safest, the cleanest, and the most aromatic candles on the market.
o Soy candles are better for you to burn.
o Easy to work with; clean up with soap and water.
o The production and burning of soy wax candles benefits American agriculture.
o It supports American farmers.
o Uses a resource that creates US jobs.
o Benefits our economy.
o Soybeans are a 100% renewable resource.
o Tap a renewable earth friendly supply, verses depleting a finite resource.o Soy wax is biodegradable.
o Better for the environment and for people and pets to breathe in.
o Soy candles are the clean burning solution to the candle soot problem.
o An air emission study conducted by Iowa State University demonstrates that soy wax does not emit toxic soot.
o Soy candles have up to 98% less soot (black smoke).
o Less soot maintains pure air quality in your home to be breathed in by family members and pets.
o Less soot reduces home maintenance problems associates with soot deposits on ceilings and walls.
o Soy candles burn cooler and longer because they have a low melting point.
o Low melting point means smaller flame required to melt the wax.
o Lasts three to four times longer than paraffin candles.
o Greater sensory experience from increased throw of fragrance.
o The larger the puddle of melted wax in the candle, the more scent it will give off.
o Fragrance radiates further when burning. Are soy candles all natural?
o Soy wax candles are crafted from soybeans. That part of your candle is absolutely all natural.
o Soy wax candles are not "all-natural" when you add dyes and fragrance oils. Once you add those two elements, your candles are no longer natural as they both contain chemicals.
o However, the slight risk of soot or chemical discharge from scented soy candles is by far, a much less risk than that of a paraffin scented candle.
o No candle can be "soot free,” but natural wax candles do have less soot than paraffin.

Colors Brown Eyes

Brown eyes are the easiest to work with. You can wear any color. Your choice of eyeshadow dramatically defines the appearance of your eyes. Eyeshadow can enhance the colour of your iris; soften or intensify your regard with sheer matte or rich shimmery textures; and transform the perceivedshape of your eyes with application techniques like shading and highlighting.

For upper lids and creases try:

Apricot, Bare, Salmon, Dreamsicle, or Chocolate Mint

For Eye Liner try:

Cinnamon Brown, Ebony, Intrigue, Earth, Midnight Blue, or Auburn Pearl (All can be wet or dry)For shimmer try Penny or 24 karat wet for a dramitic look

Colors for Blue Eyes

Colors for Blue Eyes

Makeup for blue eyes is pretty straight forward. The trick is to learn which colors look better on blue eyes, and start with those, and then branch out with the colors that you are personally drawn to. Women have a unique ability to choose colors that are complimentary to them. Just because colors are suggested doesn’t mean those are the only colors suitable for you to wear.
There are some colors that seem to be made for blue eyes. Icy pinks, silver, gold and violet all come to mind. You can expand your selection by also choosing taupe, gray, and other purples, like lavender.

If you want to add a little “oomph” to your makeup, try a bright blue instead. I know, I know. You’ve always heard bad things about blue eye shadow. However, these makeup tips for blue eyes include bright blue eye shadow because it will make your eyes really stand out. Try it and see what you think.

Also try turquoise, and if your eyes have green in them, mint green is a great choice. Bright pinks and fuchsias are great choices as well. And if you really want to mix it up, try mixing black with another color. It will look striking and it usually best for nightwear.

Application Tips

Now, I wouldn’t give you makeup tips for blue eyes without giving you tips to apply them. If you’re already comfortable with your application you don’t need to read on. But if you think you might like some guidelines to help you, keep reading.

Here’s an example of a day look that you could do:

1. Take Metallic (Multi Purpose & Eye shadows) and apply it from your eyelashes to your eyebrow.

2. Then apply Lilac (Multi Purpose & Eye shadow) from your eyelashes to just above the crease. Blend it well into the silver so you can’t see a distinct line.

3. Then take Passionate (Exclusive Multipurpose Mineral) and apply it in a “v” from the middle of your eyelid to the outer corner. Blend very, very well. You want it to look like a gradual change of color, not distinct lines.

4. Line your eyes with ebony or mischief wet for eyeliner.

5. Apply mascara.

You can adjust the colors to be Party with Lucky (both Exclusive Multipurpose Minerals), Blue Ice (Exclusive Multipurpose Minerals) with teal shimmer (Shimmering Minerals), 14 karat (Shimmering Minerals) and Dusky Taupe (Multi Purpose & Eye shadows), Intrigue (Multi Purpose & Eye shadows), and Ocean (Multi Purpose & Eye shadows), Clouds (Multi Purpose & Eye shadows), and Dynasty blue (Exclusive Multipurpose Minerals), Wish and Midnight Blue (both Exclusive Multipurpose Minerals), Dreamsicle and Chameleon (both Exclusive Multipurpose Minerals), etc. The list goes on and on.
Just play around until you like what you’re seeing. You make all the choices and decisions when it comes to your makeup. These makeup tips for blue eyes should have you seeing clearer.

Teen Beauty

Always remember that you are beautiful, even without makeup.

  • Find your own look with makeup – don’t try to copy others.
  • Take advantage of the free advice while you are still learning the trade of makeup application.
  • Glossy and lighter lips are best for youthful faces – save the darker colors for special events.
  • Sheer colors are the most pleasing on teen faces.
  • Use your creative juices on your nails – nail polish is amusing and colorful.
  • Don’t try too hard with makeup – less really is better.
  • Avoid comparing yourself to the fashion models and teen actors – they are an unrealistic ideal

Allowing girls to explore the artistic side of makeup, while in their teens, simply continues their conversion into young women. Even if they never actually leave the house, playing with makeup can be an entertaining learning activity.

Always start with keeping your skin healthy, as this will be your best beauty product. Get in the practice of cleansing your skin, morning and night, always making sure to clean off your makeup before bed. Apply acne cream if you are blemish prone at night and always use some sort of light moisturizing lotion in the morning.

Then considering makeup for teen beauty, always respect your family’s values and rules. Makeup for preteens should be limited to only lip gloss, mascara, blush and concealer. Some experimenting at home is okay, but save any intensive makeup for when you get to high school. Even for teens, makeup should not be an everyday adventure.

Love the way you look, as confidence and self-esteem are more important than physical features when it comes to beauty. Makeup in your youth should be fun – it is not necessary to look perfect – let your makeup be as loose and playful as your age.

Basic Steps
Once you have prepped your skin in the morning – the following is a basic list of teen beauty steps:

Cover up any eye circles, hide any zits, blotches or redness with concealer. Lightly put on your foundation. A little goes a long way and with young skin you want your natural beauty to shine through. Seal with a veil.

Brush your eyebrows up and across with a brow brush or clean toothbrush. Lightly color eyelids with a sheer and shimmery eye makeup. Add a natural flush with blush or bronzer. Apply mascara if using. Finish off with a touch of lip gloss or light mineral color. There is no need to apply lip liner – as it is designed for more mature lips.

Practice Makes Perfect as the teenage years are the natural time for experimenting in adult behavior, it is no surprise most teens want to jump right into makeup. Keep in mind that learning to apply makeup takes trial and error. Before ever walking out the door with any cosmetic product on – be sure to practice first. It is ideal to invite your friends over for a makeup party. Make it enjoyable and experiment freely – it all washes off anyway. Take pictures so you can best compare the aspects that work for you. Use this time to find the look that works best for your personality, values and skin tones.

Eyeliner

Getting gorgeous eyeliner

Invest in a quality pointed liner brush. Applying eyeliner with a pointed brush will help you keep the makeup under control and out of your eye! Hold the liner brush just as you would a pencil, using the hand you would usually write with. When you have chosen your desired shade of minerals: dip brush in minerals and slowly run brush across your top lid from outside to inside. Apply the color slowly to a portion of your eye at a time. Rushing can give you an uneven line and even stab you in the eye! Slow and steady is the trick to smooth and gorgeous liner. After you have gotten the knack for mineral liner, you can introduce yourself to the consistency of wet liner.

The Look of Liquid

When you feel confident applying eyeliner and feel you want to move on to the more dramatic and stunning look of liquid, while not exactly liquid, Affordable Mineral Makeup requires the same fun, yet tricky, application process.

When you have chosen your desired shade of minerals: mix a drop of water with the powder (you can use the lid or just the back of your hand) and make a series of small dots across the rim of your upper lid. Then, either smudge these with your finger for a smoky look, or connect the marks with more of the liner. Choosing the last technique will give you dark and sultry eyes, while the first will be a more subtle hint of drama. Both are perfect for a winning evening look, and wet liner goes great with all of eye shadow shades.
If you are going for a very thick line, be sure to start out thin and gradually increase. Wet liner can be quite messy, and it’s better to start out moderately than to gunk up your lids with an unnecessary amount of product.

Eyeliner Oops

If you do make a mistake, have some makeup remover close at hand. If you are touching up in a restroom and don’t have any remover with you, you can remedy your error by applying a dab of foundation or concealer to the area of your lid where the liner is too strong.

Lower lids are also prone to error, so be sure to tread carefully while painting this area. Again, use subtle smudging and light application for lower lids, otherwise you may get raccoon eyes! If for whatever reason you botch your lower lids, again use remover to erase the mistake, or concealer to tone it down.

Learning how to apply eyeliner can be a fun learning experience while enhancing your own natural beauty at the same time. Take time and try different colors to try out different liner looks until you find the one ideal for your style and personality.

Get the Prettiest Green Eyes

To get the prettiest green eyes, you need to work with the colors and tones on your skin and hair, but don't underestimate your own look. Try out different colors and see for yourself what works best for your personal style and what you are looking for.

Take good care of your eyes by removing eye makeup each night, and using a good moisturizer. Taking care of your eyes and its surrounding delicate tissue will result in more beautiful eyes.

For A Dramatic Look
There are many ways to achieve a dramatic look - here are a few methods to try.

Using Amethyst (a bold purple shade) and a liner brush, line both the top and bottom portions of the eye. To make the eye appear larger line only from the center out on both portions. Leave the line thick and bold and dust with 14 Karat Gold or 24 Karat (Shimmering Minerals) on the upper lid.

Using Teal Shimmer (Shimmering Minerals) or Emerald (Exclusive Multipurpose Minerals) and a liner brush, line the top and bottom lids with a very thin line. Blend into a slightly thicker line with Charcoal Grey or Intrigue (both Multi Purpose & Eye shadows) for a smoky effect, and use Pink Gem, Pink Shimmer, or any peach/pink combination for eye shadow.

Using Harvest, Cinnamon Brown, or Cacao create a bold sweep of color on the top lid. Smudge a much lighter, but complementary shadow under the eye and use as the contour shade for the upper lid. Finish with a light, neutral shadow all over (I suggest Bare or Cheers).

For Natural-Looking Beautiful Green Eyes
Subtle shadow and mascara draw attention to gorgeous green eyes. You don't always have to go bold for green eyes to look incredible. You can also use eye makeup to achieve a very natural look that makes your eyes stand out. Light colors are typically more natural looking, so depending on your skin, hair, and specific shade of green eyes, you may want to try peaches, pinks, tawny colors, taupe’s, light coppers, matte golds, and subdued greens and lilacs for a softer, sweeter, and more natural look.

A few other ways to get pretty green eyes without the made-up look:

Using your fingertip or q-tip, blend Bare or Cheers along the upper and lower lash line. Curl lashes and finish with two coats of mascara one to two shades darker than your natural lashes. This will give a lovely, very natural look that still draws attention to your green eyes.

Dot a Penny (Shimmering Minerals) line along the upper eyelid and smudge gently with your fingertip or eyeliner tool. Add a contour with a hint of green shadow, highlight gently sweep a lighter, but complementary copper shade below the brow bone. Use White ~ Matte on the inner part of the lower lid and teal shimmer or Amethyst for brighter green eyes.

Mascara for Pretty Green Eyes
Even using mascara alone with green eyes can look stunning. Unless you have dark hair, you may want to stay away from dark black mascara. Opt for those with a copper, purple, or green undertone to draw attention to your gorgeous eyes. With Affordable Mineral Makeup you can make your own mascara. See other tips in this blog.

Candles and More

Today I want to talk about candles. I know there are many companies out there that claim to be the best. I also know it is a matter of personal choice. I fell in love with LunaWolf's Mystical Essence candles. They smell so good and last a very long time. I also started using the tarts on a candle warmer and love the way they make my house smell. Then I tried the lotion. Not only does it smell good, but it makes my skin so soft. There are many other products and they are wonderful as well. My kitties love the mystical kitty toys. They are made by a very loving and kind stay at home mom named Vicki. Please check out my site: http://www.lunawolfsmysticalessence.com/store/aGo.asp?aff=11

Mineral Foundation & Mineral Concealer

For blemishes, simply use our mineral foundation or mineral concealer foundation. I do however, recommend that you cover the blemishes before applying the foundation to your entire face. Use a blending brush (or any small brush) to apply small amounts to the problem areas and blend well. To cover redness try our Light Green Concealer.

To apply our mineral foundation or mineral concealers: Tap a small amount of powder into the top lid and swirl your Kabuki brush into it. Tap the bottom of the handle with the brush head facing upward on a hard surface (such as: bathroom counter). This settles the powder into the brush head.

The Kabuki brush is the key to applying our mineral makeup in a professional manner.

Firmly apply light layers on clean, dry skin to evenly blend the pigments. Start at your jaw line and move towards the center of your face. Buff in a gentle circular or downward motion. Do not add more mineral makeup to the brush when working around the eye area. It will have a tendency to settle into the lines around your eyes.

The secret to using mineral makeup is to apply it in very sheer layers. It is the light refracting qualities of the pure minerals that give it the ability to cover the skin naturally and allow your inner beauty to shine forth.

For those with dry, flaky skin,Affordable Mineral Makeup foundation can be blended with water to create a crème foundation. First moisturize as usual, and then tap a small amount of powder into the palm of the hand. Add a drop or two of water. Blend the two together until a smooth, creamy consistency is achieved. Use your fingers or make-up wedge to apply.

COLORS THAT SUIT YOUR EYE

Eye makeup (eyeliner, eyeshadow, and mascara) is arguably the most fun type of makeup. With a quick sweep of a sponge-tipped applicator or cute little brush, you can go from girl-next-door innocent to positively trampy.

Here's a handy little chart to help you figure out what colors would best suit your eye color:

Brown eyes Shades of slate blue, gray, and plum will help brown eyes stand out.

Green eyes Shades of pink, salmon, mauve, and brownish-pink will help green eyes look even greener.

Blue eyes Shades of brown, camel, and taupe will help blue eyes appear even bluer.

Part of the fun of putting on makeup is mixing and matching various colors and shades for different looks and effects. But it's important thatwhen you choose a color, it must suit your skin type, skin color, and eye color. If you have dark skin tones, bright red blush won't blend into your skin, no matter how hard you try to rub it in. And if you're pale, black eyeshadow won't win you any admirers - instead, people will be asking you who won the fight. So be realistic and keep reminding yourself that certain colors look better in their packagingand on other people.

Eyeliner~

Eyeliner belongs on the base of your lids, and its purpose is to enhance the size and shape of your eyes. Some people also like to line the bottom of their eyes, which really has a dramatic effect. Eyeliner comes in many different colors and our minerals dry ideal for a"natural" look, and wet for a more "dramatic" look.

Mascara~

Mascara only used to be available in black, but nowadays you can find it in all sorts of colors. You can use our minerals to make yourown mascara. Ebony is the color of choice, but if you choose to wear a colored mascara, I recommend that you stick to darker colors likeMidnight Blue or Auburn Pearl, as opposed to light blue or green. Mascara comes in clear with a wand with a tube that you can dip into ourminerals; or you can but just mascara wands at the beauty supply store and make your own colors. In a clean try mix a little water with theminerals to get the consistancy you want. Dip your wand and apply. Remember several light coats is better then one heavy coat.

Smokey Eyes with Affordable Mineral Makeup

Smokey Eyes with Affordable Mineral Makeup
http://www.mineralsbycherl.com

What you need:
Cinnamon Brown (Exclusive Multipurpose Minerals), Charcoal Grey (Multi Purpose & Eyeshadows), Retreat (Shimmering Minerals) or Ebony (Multi Purpose & Eyeshadows)

A flat eyeliner brush

A cotton swab or sponge-tipped smudger

How to do it:

Begin by applying a neutral shadow -- like Cheers or Organic (both Multi Purpose & Eyeshadows) -- over entire lid. This will give your liner something to stick to.

Dip the edge of your eyeliner brush into your dark shadow. Tap off excess powder.

Close your eye and gently press the liner brush into the base of your upper lashes. Repeat along the length of your lashes. Repeat to add more color.

With your cotton swab, softly smudge the liner upward, as if you were trying to blend it up to the crease of your lid.

Finish with a coat of mascara on top lashes.
